Cast Iron Wheels
Cast Iron wheels and castor wheels which combine strength and shock resistance with long life and economy. They have a very low tractive resistance and are a first choice where ease of movement is needed.Cast Iron Metal Wheels are a hard wheel and are generally capable of taking heavier loads than soft materials (e.g. Rubb...er tyres). However, this means that when running over uneven surfaces, the impact loads and vibrations are not absorbed by the wheel.
These caster wheels are undoubtedly tough but can cause floor wear and noise. None-the-less, cast iron is a good choice as a wheel material used primarily where a rough service condition prevails.
Cast Iron Heavy Duty Castor Wheels can be used as a replacement wheel in castors. If you are looking to replace an existing caster wheel, please check the hub length (the distance through the central bore). You will also need to measure the bore diameter of the central hole and the type of wheel bearing being. These are usually a Smooth Plain Bore, Roller Bearing or Ball Bearings. Read More
