Pressed Steel Castors
Pressed steel castors are used in a wide variety of applications such as trolleys, shop-fitting equipment, displays, institutional and apparatus equipment as medical applications. They are available as Swivel Only, Swivel & Brake or Fixed (sometime called Rigid) castors.The forks of the castor, which are the two side p...lates that hold the wheel, are formed by machine pressing a single piece of steel.
They can be secured to your equipment by either a multiple hole (usually 4 Hole) Top Plate fastening or a single Bolt Hole Fitting which can be fitted with an expander fitting to suit a hollow tube.
The swivelling characteristics of pressed steel castors are affected by the castor's offset and wheel diameter. Furthermore, the construction of the swivel bearing also plays a part.
- A single ball race swivel castor is suitable for apparatus and transportation (e.g. trolleys) and enable good steering with a compact design.
- A double ball race swivel castor is available for medium and heavy duty requirements and it provides excellent performance under heavier loads as compared with a single ball race.

This is a 4 hole plate fitting castor and the bolt holes suit an 8mm bolt as well as being slotted (rather than round) to accommodate 80/76mm x 60x44.5mm.

This castor is fitted with a grey Thermoplastic Rubber Tyre Wheel that will not mark or damage the floor and is ideal for most general castor purposes such as trolley castors or dolly castors. The Ball Bearing in the wheel provides excellent rolling performance.

Elastic rubber tyres is a type of rubber that it offers higher load capacities than standard rubber tyres. The roller bearing consists of steel rollers in a plastic cage that rotate between the axle tube and the wheel's hub. This greatly reduces rolling resistance even under load and roller bearings are maintenance free and robust.
